Show Your Support

It is important that elected officials don't just hear from you when you oppose a bill or issue. Use the below scripts to ask your elected official to support a specific bill or thank them for a specific vote they cast or position they took.

Note: Remember to include your name and return address on all mail to elected officials so they can verify you are a constituent in their district. 


Support Mail: Asking for a YES vote.

Best for: Urging a state or federal representative to vote in favor of a specific bill.

Dear [Title] [Last Name], As a constituent in your district, I am writing to urge you to vote in favor of [Bill Number/Title]. Your vote on this matter is incredibly important to me and the folks back home. Thank you for your leadership. Sincerely, [Your Name]

Best for: Celebrating a vote, thanking an official, or backing a specific bill.

[Title][Last Name], As a constituent in your district, I'm writing to express my gratitude for your position on [Issue or Bill Number.] Thank you for standing up for our community and advocating for policies that reflect our shared values. Keep fighting for us, and we will continue to support you here in the district. [Your Name]
